6 Months Old

Little Ms. Madie turned 6 months old yesterday.  We, of course, celebrated her first half birthday with lots of singing (mine - she is SO lucky, I cannot almost envision the eye rolls of my future), new bath toys, a fun crawl and move ball, and her very own sippy cup.  At 6 months old, Madie loves to observe and study new things.  She loves her talking purse and tea set, but still goes back to her old faithfuls - Sophie the giraffe and blocks.  She sleeps with her Bunny Love and it is so cute to creep into her room in the middle of the night and see her hugging it tightly.  She giggles quiet frequently and especially thinks its funny when Mom says "BOO!" and plays "Where is Madie?".  She rolls all over the place, that is her favorite form of transportation these days.  Madie has tried carrots, peas, avacados, butternut squash, green beans, sweet potatoes, and bananas. Basically she likes anything that isn't green.  Sweet potatoes and squash remain the front runners and the only things that solicit an occasional "mmmm"  Madie weighs 16.7lbs and 25.3 inches tall.  She did say Dada the other day, and believe me, her Daddy is working dillegently to encourage more use of that word!  I love SO many things about my sweet angel baby but here are a few:  she grasps her sweet little hands in front of herself all the time, her giggle is AMAZING, she holds her bunny over her and talks to him first thing in the mornings, she holds on to my arm when I read to her at night, she grabs her little ear whenever she is about to crash out, and her smile already lights up a room! Here are our 6 months pics, and I must say that when I was pregnant and thought about the way I would stage Madie's monthly photos, I decided on the blocks because I knew that she would, at some point, have blocks in her mouth, on the floor, anywhere but in front displaying her current age - that day has arrived folks!  Enjoy - I sure did!  My sweet baby girl is quiet the funny baby!

"Hey Mom - did you see the awesome blocks in my crib?"

I think I might want them..............................

HAHAHA!  Yeah I am going to grab them!  (this is my favorite picture of the bunch!)

Mmmmm, I think I will put Bunny Love in my mouth instead.

OK Mom, here is your shot.  Better hurry.

Notice how the blocks don't really say "months", that's because in between every shot I was trying to get them restacked! I didn't even realize the S was upside down in a few and the H had disappeard until I downloaded them!  Oh how I love this life.

2 for 1

I have been quiet the blog slacker so here are two fun weekends crammed into one blog! Ha!

Last weekend we met Chad, Kelly and Cooper at the State Fair.  It was the perfect day for it!  Madie was SO excited.  I don't know what was most exciting:  riding in her big girl stroller for the first time, all the people or seeing Cooper!  As much as she loves to people watch, this was right up her alley.

Ready to go!
First time in the big girl stroller!  She kept leaning all the way forward and holding on.
Checking out the map with Daddy.  Where do we get the corn dogs?
 Hanging out with Mom
 Hey!  I know you!
Checking out the animals, she was much more interested in the people!  And there were plenty of them....
Sweet Cooper kept giving Madie hugs. He is such a good big cousin!
 All tuckered out!

This weekend we struck out early Saturday morning for Madie's first volunteer event!  We headed over to Girls Inc in Arlington to help with a garage sale fundraiser. I must say she was the star of the show.  I hope she loves trying to make a difference, no matter how small a difference it may be. I have a feeling she will.

Ready to go make a difference!
 Selling stuff with Daddy
 She had worked too hard................

One last thing, a couple of weeks ago Madie and I went to the park.  She absolutely LOVED the swing.  We had so much fun.  I can't wait for it to cool off a bit so we can go back.

Pumpkin Patch

We took little Ms. Madie to the Pumpkin Patch on Saturday. This place was on steroids! There were food booths, bounce houses, train rides, mazes, a house of pumpkins and a million places for photos.  Madie had been in such a good mood all day and really hamming it up at lunch so I just knew we would get an adorable fall picture.  Ha!  There were so many little ones running around and so much going on she was in total shock.  Still adorable, just never willing to look at me and smile.  Oh well, we weren't there for the picture, but for the experience and she seemed to think it was all quiet interesting!

West Texas Road Trip!

Last weekend we headed out to West Texas to see family. First stop was Abilene with MiMi and Grandaddy then we went to Odessa for Madie to see Grammy, Great Granny, Uncle David, Earl, Brenda and Jeremy. We had such a fun time! Lots of pictures to share.................

We tried to stage a pumpkin shot at MiMi's.  Madie didn't want to cooperate at all!  You should have seen all the things going on behind me trying to make her smile, probably why she looks so shocked! HA!

MiMi and Granddaddy had a lot of fun toys for Madie to play with but her favorite was this plastic tray the toys came in, imagine that.  :)

The next day we headed to Odessa, this is Madie with her Great Granny

Here is Madie with Grammy

Madie loved the hotel and rolled around all over the bed.  She even slept pretty good!  Here she is talking with her Daddy about all the jackrabbits around town.  What's that about?
We made one more stop back in Abilene on our way home and watched the Cowboys with Grandaddy.  Madie had such an eventful weekend she crashed out!
And because these are just too FABULOUS not to share, here are the boots I have been obsessing over that my sweet momma surprised (after torturing) me with!
