There are some things

There are some things I would share with new/soon to be mommies if I could. And they would go a little something like this:
  • Your baby WILL roll over one day
  • Your baby WILL sleep through the night eventually
  • You WILL NOT have to swaddle him/her until kindergarten
  • You are right - you are the luckiest mom on the face of the earth

  • Your baby WILL sit up on their own
  • Your baby WILL crawl in their own good time
  • Your baby WILL laugh out loud - and it will melt your heart beyond recognition
  • You are right - you are the luckiest mom on the face of the earth
  • Your baby WILL be OK to eat solid foods and EVEN finger foods too
  • Your baby WILL get some teeth - eventually
  • Your baby WILL  put vowels and consonants together
  • You are right - you are the luckiest mom on the face of the earth
  • Your baby WILL pull up on everything
  • Your baby WILL discover every single small fragment of everything in your carpet
  • Your baby WILL give you sloppy sweet baby kisses when you least expect it
  • You are right - you are the luckiest mom on the face of the earth
All the things I wondered and worried about - God showed his hand every time.  We are so "fearfully and wonderfully made".  And now all I worry about is the fact that my sweet angel may be just a little too cute and way too smart.  Thank you Jesus for my amazing, beautiful, smart baby girl.  I am the luckiest mom on the face of the earth.

This Thing is Legendary!

Madie took her first trip to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo this weekend.  She LOVED it.  She is at the perfect age to see all the animals and had so much fun in the Children's barnyard.  Madie loved the pigs the most but kept trying to touch the sheep.  Horses were pretty cool too, but she's already ridden one of those so nothing new there.  :)  Mike and I had a great time too, took me back to my Brownwood days and Chad showing Oscar Mayer.  Ha!  I told Madie all about it.  We had a great day and Daddy even got her a stuffed pig to take home with us.  Who knows, we may have a little FFA girl in our future.

All dressed up and ready to go to the barns
 Checking out the horses
 Baby Pigs
Looking at more pigs - this one looked just like Oscar Mayer!
Got her own piglet to take home
Something about the Stock Show gave us a hankering for BBQ
 What a fun day!

Let it Snow!

A couple of weeks ago Madie got to see her first snow! Here she is watching it.......

9 Months Old

Little Ms. Madie turned 9 months old last week!  (I know, I 'm late)  I won't say "I can't believe how fast time is going" but seriously, how fast is time going?  Madie has two bottom teeth, army crawls like a an Olympic sprinter and is pulling up on everything!  In fact, we have had a couple middle of the night rescues as she pulls herself up in her crib and can't figure out how to get back down.  We are eating three meals a day, mostly just fruits and veggies and have started cheerios, puffs and some bananas as finger foods.  Madie laughs A LOT and has the cheesiest grin in the whole world.  She also has this really funny serious face when she is concentrating.  Madie loves to play with all her toys and cannot wait for her bath.  She has got daddy right where she wants him and just when I think I am past the point of swoon she offers one of those ridiculously sweet slobber kisses.  Madie is OBSESSED with CoCo, she squeals with delight in the morning when she sees her.  And, occasionally, I think CoCo doesn't think she is half bad.  They will best buds before long.  In fact, Madie's favorite game right now is throwing CoCo's toy for her.  We have had quiet a few colds this winter, and really weren't feeling up to our 9 month pictures, but she is a champ none the less.  Madie weighs 18.8 lbs and is 28.4 inches long.  Doc says she is 50th percentile in weight and 75th in height.  He also said she seems to be advanced in her development, like I am surprised!  Ha!  We love our angel baby so much and every day with her gets better.  I find myself wondering where my baby went and waiting with baited breath for the next adventure she will take us on.  No doubt, Madie is the light of our lives, we are so very blessed!

Examining her boots.......
 About over the photo session!
Here is that serious face, she is DEFINITELY over it now!  Ha!

Project Playroom

We decided to convert our office into Madie's new playroom.  We really wanted a place for all of her things where should could roam and explore freely.  I am SO happy with the result and Madie seems to love it too.  We have yet to leave it this morning!

On another note, my Christmas present arrived this week!  Madie decided to play in the box, girl has good taste!  Ha!

New Year's in Odessa

This year Mike, Madie and I headed out to Odessa New Year's Eve weekend to celebrate Christmas with family there.  Madie got to have Chrismtas twice!  Lucky girl.  The first night we celebrated with Great Granny, Grammy, and Uncle David.

Here she is with Daddy when we arrived
Opening presents at her Great Granny's house
 Reading her new book
The next day we went to her Grandpa's house and celebrated with Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Chelsi, Bret and Bishop, Mariah and Aaron
Somewhere along the way Madie decided to provide her "cheesy face" every time I got out the camera!  Ha
See how very cute I am!
Dancing girl had so much fun!
