Butterfly Flutterby

This weekend we struck out for the Grapevine Butterfly Flutterby!  Basically, the kiddos dress up as butterflies, march down the street in a parade and then release monarchs to start their flight to Mexico.  We had tons of fun!
Daddy and Madie ready to flutter!
 Madie was on a mission.......
to see this dog butterfly.  Ha!
 This is fun!

Oh - we found another dog!

 Our little butterfly fashionista.  Ha!
This was such a good idea Mommy!
Here they come!  We got in line after we saw some march by.
All the kids released butterflies at one time, this one decided to visit Madie before he headed south!

18 Months Old

Little Ms. Madie is 18 months old! Where oh where does time go?  Madie is SO much fun and has the cutest little personality.  She can be the sweetest little girl you laid eyes on and 5 seconds later give you a piece of her mind.  Right now Madie is really into her jewelry!  She goes in her room and puts on all her accessories before breakfast, after school, even sometimes right after her bath!
You just never know what Ms. Priss will eat these days.  Sometimes she eats every bite, other days she turns up her nose.  She especially loves breakfast with Daddy at Chic-fil-A and cheese quesadillas.  At her 18 month check up she weighed 24.4 lbs, just right!
Madie is saying about 20 words now.  Some in her repretoire are hot, CoCo, Dada, Cassie (I know!), Momma, outside, thank you, YAY! and touchdown!  Wonder what we do around our house?

There are a few things about our Madie that I don't want to forget at this age.  Like the way she pats me on the back late at night when she is having her last cup of milk.  Or the absolute wonderfullness of her coming up behind you and giving you the biggest hug around your legs.  It is absolutely hilarious when she tells us off.  I know we shouldn't laugh but you should see that little finger shake and the jabber that comes from her mouth.  I love how sweet she is to CoCo. I will never ever forget the sweet kisses she randomly bestows upon me.  Madie Lou you are such an absolute delight and I cannot thank God enough for allowing ME to be your momma.  What a great year and half it has been!

Big Big Day!

September 22nd was a VERY big day in the McQuitty household.  This was the day Madie would find out if she was getting a little brother or little sister.

What do you think Madie?
My mom came to go to the sonogram with me!  We really thought we already knew that we were having a boy but were excited anyway.  Well, it got a whole lot more exciting when they said.........
We could NOT believe it!  How very exciting - SiStErS!  I just know it is going to be so much fun.  Marlie Grace McQuitty is due February 5th and we absolutely cannot wait to meet her! I just know she will be wonderfully perfect and amazing just like our little Madie.  We are so very blessed!  "Every good and perfect gift is from above" James 1:17.

We have her closet organized.  Many matching outfits have been purchased!  Bedding and furniture are on the way.  We are so ready for this incredible journey.

We can't wait to meet you sweet Marlie Grace!!

Good Visit!

We were so lucky this past weekend!  Case came to see us on Thursday and then MiMi and Grandaddy came on Saturday.  I cannot even believe that I literally only took one picture. Fortunately, I have some of Case.  He came to help team United We Tug at a field day for one of our companies running their United Way campaign!

From the looks of this picture, perhaps I should have been the anchor!
They gave it a good try, but let's just say maybe we should've competed in the sack races.
SO glad I got to spend time with my little brother!

Cheering on (or maybe commiserating with) the Cowboys!
Thanks for coming to visit!  We had lots of fun even if it's not all documented.  :)

Grapefest!

Wow, I really have A LOT of catching up to do!  Several posts tonight.  A couple of weeks ago we met our friends Brian, Carrie and Payton in Grapevine for Grapefest. Madie had a blast, she loves live music and seeing all the people.

Listening to some live music!

Madie really thought it was fun to run around. She is getting quite fast these days.
Madie and her future bestie Payton
Our favorite part was the petting zoo.  Notice Madie telling the other girls not to touch her goat!  Ha!

Birthday Weekend

Last weekend we had a staycation in Grapevine to celebrate Mike's birthday.  We had so much fun! For some reason my camera was a little blurry so I didn't get near the pics  I wanted, but here a few.

We started the day at the Botanic Gardens in Fort Worth.  It was such a beautiful day, we just had to be outside.

Madie discovering the sounds of different birds

 Little Ms. Independent

Feeding the fish at the Japanese gardens.  This was definitely our favorite activity.

We had a room at the Bass Pro Embassy and Madie was in heaven!  She opened every drawer, ran around like a crazy person and even went down to happy hour.

That night we met our friends Brian, Carrie and baby Payton for dinner to celebrate Mike's birthday. I guess we were so nervous about getting through an entire dinner on a Saturday night at Outback with two babies I completely forgot to take pictures!  The girls did famously.  Not one issue!

Here she is before breakfast the next morning.
Before we went home we went to visit the fish at Bass Pro.  We inadvertently fed them too!  One of Madie's favorite bracelets fell into the tank and the fish went after like crazy!  We may need to patent a new lure.  Ha! Madie just kept saying "uh oh!"
This weekend was so great! We had a great time celebrating Mike, and Madie discovered a love for hotels!  Happy Happy Birthday to a great husband and daddy!

On a completely different note, I have started feeling baby M2 quite a bit.  Seems to be an active one too!  We find out boy or girl next week and cannot wait!!

Labor Day Weekend

Madie and I headed west for the long weekend to visit MiMi and Granddaddy.  We had such a good time and I am not sure Madie was ready to leave!

Saturday morning Granddaddy took us to the zoo.  Madie LOVED the flamingos. Must be the pink.

 Catching a breeze with Granddaddy
We bought crackers to feed the giraffe but he wasn't hungry so we used them  to feed the fish instead.  Madie did such a good job throwing it out to them!

When we got home, Madie put on a few accessories and played some games.  She kept making this HYSTERICAL surprise face when Minnie would pop up but for some reason my camera was blurry.  :(  And MiMi threatened me with my life if I posted a few.  See I do mind sometimes.
Madie discovered my old jewelry drawer in my room and said "AHHHH!".  She put on everything her little arm could hold.  Here she is checking herself out in the mirror.
Sunday morning we headed out to Cross Cut to visit the horses. Jake couldn't wait to say hi!

Watching Granddaddy take out the feed
Petting the sweetest one of the bunch, Rooster.

Madie got pictures with all the horses except for crazy Baccacita Jewel.  She just wasn't having it.  Here is Madie trying out the saddle.  Looks like a cowgirl to me!
And just like a true Texas girl, after we got home from the country she got all dolled up and headed out shopping! Ha!  MiMi let her wear all her jewelry to the mall.
Madie had such a great time in Abilene and even started saying "Grandad" this weekend!  She cheered on the Aggies in honor of Uncle Chad and Case and had ample opportunities to do her touchdown arms.  Kelly, Chad and Cooper were at the game and Kelly sent MiMi a picture of Cooper - Madie kept kissing it. SO funny!  Great long weekend and now back to reality!
