COHEN

I will not be blogging tomorrow as I participate in a moment of silence for baby Cohen. His mom Megan suffered PCOS, something very near and dear to me, before finally becoming pregnant. At 22 weeks they discovered Cohen had a rare heart disease and began a journey to fix his broken heart. Tomorrow we pray for Megan and her family as they put her precious baby boy to rest. May he rest in the arms of his heavenly father and his family find peace in that.

She posted these on her blog today, what an amazing woman of faith.

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

John 11: 25-26 "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die..."

First Day of School

The time has finally come for me to head back to work. I decided to take Madie to daycare for a few days this week so we could adjust before the real deal. Well, if I am honest, it was so I could adjust (cry), she is doing just fine. So Monday morning we got up, got ready and headed in. Her teachers were so excited to meet her and said they had passed her pictures all around the building to show how cute she was. Boy was Momma proud! She did great and was so tired when she got home from all the playing. I came home and watched on the cameras the whole time! Ha! It sure is hard to leave her but I know this is the best thing for us. I am ready to head back to work and want Madie to know she can do it all someday too if she so chooses. Here are some pics from her first day, it was early so she didn't cooperate but so much.

Here we are talking before we headed out. I was trying to tell her what to expect and she had alot to say too!

Happy Birthday Cooper!

Cooper turns 1!

This weekend we celebrated sweet Cooper's 1st birthday. We had so much fun and Kelly and Chad did a great job as usual. We are so blessed to have this precious little man in our lives and cannot believe it has already been a year. Where does the time go? Of course, this was Madie's first party to attend, she really enjoyed just watching everything and everyone. There was alot to watch! I know by Coop's 2nd party she will be right in the middle of everything. Thanks for a great time Chad, Kelly and Coop!

All dressed up and ready to PARTY!!
Lucky for us, MiMi and Grandad came a day early and Madie was SO excited to see them!

We got all dressed up and headed to Central Market to eat dinner and listen to music

We had a busy, great weekend! Madie is such a little observer, it cracks me up. She studies everything so intently before she decides if she will grant a little smile. Just one of our many weekend adventures.

Happy Father's Day!

Today is a very, very special day. Today is the day all little girls get to celebrate one of the most important men in their lives, their daddy! I know how amazing it is to be Daddy's little girl, it is something you know you can always come back to and will never outgrow. Daddys are there to make sure you know how to not be TOO girlie, but make sure all the boys respect you like a girl. They can make you feel like a precious commodity but bring you back to earth when work needs to be done. Daddys teach you how to drive (sorry about running into that creek bed, learned a cuss word that day too), throw a baseball, shag balls (ha!), ride a horse or a pump jack, and work hard. They treat you a little different than the boys, but that is because you deserve to be treated a little special, you are Daddy's little girl after all. I have been so blessed to have such a strong and loving man as my Daddy, he is the first man I ever loved. And now I get to watch the other man in my life walk that same walk with my sweet Madie. I know he will teach her to grill a mean steak, wet a hook and probably knock around a golf ball or two. I look forward to seeing her enjoy a relationship that is like no other, she's got a good one!

We shopped and shopped for just the perfect 1st Father's Day gift, they were both worn out!

But here it is................. now he can cook his own Father's Day meal! Ha!

Madie cooked breakfast and got all dressed up in her special Father's Day Texas Rangers outfit!
Happy Father's Day!

Doctor, Doctor Give Me the News

Today was Madie's two month check up. Drum roll please................11lbs 10oz and 22 inches long. Doc says were are not on track to be a very big girl, surprise, surprise! Madie had to get two shots which she took like a champ. They said to expect crying and excessive clinginess but Madie said she would be patient with me! Ha!

Here is Ms. Madie as I was explaining what was going to happen today. She said "they are going to do WHAT????"

Just for Fun

Madie was wearing a ridiculously fun outfit today (Thanks Schwertners!) so we had an impromptu photo shoot! She is really holding her head up well these days and even accidentally rolled over. I don't think she even knew it happened but I was really excited. All was great until she got distracted by Top Chef. She loves watching her Daddy cook in the evenings and apparently the show too. Perhaps I have a future chef on my hands............

2 Months Old

Our little Ms. Madie is two months old today! We have done and seen so much over the past month. She has transitioned to her own bed, been swimming, took her first road trip, loves laying on her playmat, looking in the mirror, and has even started talking and singing quiet a bit. And did I mention that smile? Oh that smile makes angels sing I am sure! We see more and more of her personality everyday. I already knows she is strong willed, quick to smile and slow to sleep. :) She doesn't want to miss a thing and can be really serious when she thinks. We love every little moment with her and will for the rest of our days.

Getting Stronger

We decided to try the Bumbo with Madie tonight. She has really been holding her head up, so why not. I think she liked it!
