What a Weekend!

This weekend was Case's high school graduation. We loaded up and headed to Abilene for the festivities. We are all so proud of Case and I am a little dazed as I really don't believe my little brother could already be graduating! It just goes to show how fast time flies. I only cried a little, which is AMAZING for me as I was sure there would be waterworks. You are welcome Case. We got to hang out with Cooper for the first time at MiMi and Grandaddy's, they did really well together. Cooper was pretty interested in Madie (and her bows), and I know Madie really wishes she could get down and play with him, won't be long! We also got to meet the Moss clan, Levi even said Madie was "so cute!" and Luke showed us how he could hold her. Ha! We all kept MiMi and Grandaddy very busy, bet they are glad to have their house back. Here are the pics from this weekend. We love you Case and could not be prouder!

Madie ready for Case's graduation!
She found the ceremony very interesting..........

About as interesting as Case found mine 15 years ago!

Case and his proud parents, they graduated their last Wylie Bulldog

Chad got Cooper a pool and of course we had to see what Madie thought. Doesn't her face say it all? Ha! She will be a water baby before too long.

With everything going on we had one tired baby girl! You should see Grandaddy! :)
What a great weekend! We can't wait to head back to MiMi and Grandaddy's for many more adventures. Way to go Case, "go on take on this 'ol world, but always know the road that leads you home again!" We love you.

Cooper and Madie!

Cooper and Kelly came over today. We were so excited, had talked about it all morning, got all dressed up in the adorable "cousins" shirt Kelly got made for us and then 5 minutes before they arrived, Madie passed out and stayed that way almost the whole time! Wouldn't you know it? She has NO idea how much fun she missed out on. We got a few pictures of them, however the most fun was trying to stage these pictures. Cooper just wanted to help Madie get that silly bow off her head and his Momma just wouldn't let him. Then he wanted to try and give her a big hug and kiss and again got cut off! We had fun and laughed a lot, just a small glimpse of what is to come, I am sure. Oh I cannot wait for all the fun times ahead of us!

Just look at this sweet face!
Not Madie's most flattering photo, but too funny not to post! She looks like she is thinking "what in the world is that boy doing?"
First attempt.........

Newborn Pictures

When Madie was 9 days old, our sweet friend and photographer extrodinaire, Gara came over to take our newborn pictures. I am SO excited by how they turned out and thrilled to share. She looks so peaceful in most, not a true testament to that day! HA! However, it is a true testament to the baby she has become. Check out Gara's website at www.garahill.com.

One Month Old

We cannot believe Madie is one month old! This past month has possibly been the fastest in my entire life. Madie is changing so quickly and it seems she learns something new everyday. I knew I was going to love my daughter, I had no idea just how much that love would consume me. I love that she fights us when she doesn't want to sleep, I imagine it means she is going to fight as hard as she can when someone is trying to get her to do something she doesn't want to do. I love when she stares up at me and coos, I know this is only the beginning of our conversations. I love that she kicks her little legs as hard as she can in times of pure joy and utter disgust, maybe we have a soccer player on our hands. I love that every time I leave her with her Daddy for more than 5 minutes I come back and she is missing a bow and one sock. I think she is probably getting a little help in that arena. But probably, most of all, I love those wide toothless grins she bestows upon me occasionally. Those grins get me through every late night feeding, every fussy period and every catastrophic diaper. I know her smile will change over time and I know it will always set my heart on fire. We are so amazed at our precious daughter and I look forward to every moment as she discovers her world around her, those who love her and who she is going to be. We love you Madie Lou, you have filled our hearts until they could explode!

One month old modeling shoot, she was pretty patient as it takes me forever to take a decent picture!

Madie's absolute favorite place is to hang out on her changing table. We cannot figure it out! We think maybe she is looking at something in the mirror. But whatever you do, do not try to actually CHANGE her on the changing table!

In honor of Madie's one month birthday, MiMi and I decided she should be broken into Southlake Town Center, one of our favorite shopping spots. Here she is ready to strike out. (If I am honest, we only went to one store, but it was a start)

Here she is in the restaurant after we ate. Doesn't she look worn out? Look at how lopsided her bow wound up! You should've seen how MiMi and I looked. Ha!

All I Need to Know

Most of you know as I prepared for my sweet Madie I read every parenting book I could get my hands on. I always want to feel prepared for the task at hand! I wondered why some of my veteran mommy friends laughed every time I spouted one of my book factoids. Well it turns out no book can ever prepare you for what mommyhood really is all about. Lucky for me, my own mom can! See the woman who was always down the hall from me is in fact quiet the expert! She was here when Madie arrived, the day she came home, for her first bath and for all those times I looked at her and said "what do i do?". No book ever said "try as hard as you can to comfort her and she will know how much you love her". No book ever said "massage her belly this way to relieve that little bit of gas". No book was there to guide me through the first time I gave my daughter a bath or that first nasal syringe experience! And certainly no book was ever around to watch my sweet angel as I catch a much needed nap, shower, or bathroom break! All the while I keep thinking someday I will get to do this for Madie. I have always known what an amazing mom I have, and now she is teaching me how to be that for my Madie. As I celebrate my first Mother's Day with my little dream I can only pray I will be half the mom to her that my mom has been to me. Because all I need to know about being a mom comes from watching her! Happy Mothers Day!

What a week......

I cannot believe my little Ms. Madie is three weeks old today! Everyone told me time would fly, but seriously this is crazy. We have a great week already. Lynn came by to meet us on Saturday and I have to admit I was a little embarrassed that Madie was swaddled for a nap and had a ridiculously huge bow on. What can I say? She is stylin' in her sleep! Later that day we finally got to officially introduce Cooper and Madie. Although they weren't too interested in each other just yet, I cannot wait for all the fun times these little ones are going to have together. Cooper is getting so big and has such a great personality. He is definitely all boy and we wouldn't have it any other way. On Sunday Sherry, Brian and Harrison came over to see Madie. Again, she slept the whole time! It was great to see my old friend and finally meet Brian and H. What a sweet family. Mike finally got to feed Madie this week as we have introduced her to the bottle. She took to it great and Mike was grinning like a possum that day! All this and it's only Tuesday, being a Mommy keeps you busy.

Here is Madie's three week old picture. Isn't that bow awesome?
Daddy feeding Madie for the first time

I just know we are going to LOVE Aunt Kelly

Debut photo with Uncle Chad, I have a feeling he is going to be a lot of fun for Madie!

Grandaddy requested a picture with Cooper, Madie and Mimi. He didn't think we could do it, we showed him!
This is what it was really like though!! See how much fun we are going to have. It looks like Madie is cheering Cooper on "Go Coop, make a run for it, I'll distract Mimi!"

First Bath

This week was Madie's first "real" bath. I have to say I was a little nervous since she has been less than thrilled by all of our sponge baths up to this point. Once again, just as I think I know what to anticipate, little Ms. Madie shows me who is in control. She absolutely LOVED it! The only time she got upset was when it was time to get out. I think we will be enjoying bath time for years to come.

I love this expression! She is saying "I am not sure what is going on here, but keep it up!"
This is the look that makes me feel like the luckiest momma on the face of the earth.
For some reason she likes to pull her hood over her eyes. Maybe she is a future boxer? Not on my watch!
