Pumpkins at the Pumpkin Patch

We made our annual trek out to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch last weekend.  We always have so much fun there and got smart this year and arrived soon after they opened on a Saturday!  Above is our best family photo on the hayride!  Marlie was so interested in everything around her.

Sweet Pea hanging with her daddy
Madie loved all the cut outs this year.  We spent a little too much time investigating all our favorite shows.  Some I have NO idea how she knew who they were!

Our little pumpkin in a pumpkin.  :)
Annual girl shot with a new girl!
I love that they have an old merry go round there!  Madie thought it was great fun and there were kids on it all day long!
The girls hanging out in the pumpkin house.
Daddy making sure she wouldn't fall!  Ha!

This little train ride made me a NERVOUS wreck!  There were no seat belts and she was determined to do it by herself.  I chose not to watch most of the time.  WHO knew a lawn mower could pull so fast? But she was grinning from ear to ear when they pulled back into the station.  Of. Course. She. Was.  Daredevil!
 There are no words.....
No words for this either.  Ha!
All these families were staging adorable sibling pics in the patch.  I tried and tried and tried......  This is the best I did.  Real Life!
This pic is probably my favorite of the whole day.  I love my girls together and how they find each other hysterical!

Flashback.........Crazy difference a couple of years can make.  I love my sweet girls!

Mimi Time!

We convinced Mimi to come for some good girl time last weekend!  Mom and I did a little lot of shopping on Friday while the girls were at school.  It was really nice to have my mamma all to myself!  Some things will never change.

Saturday morning we struck out to Celebrate Roanoke.  Cute shots with the girls!

Here is what the girls thought before Celebrate Roanoke:

 Here is after:

A picture is worth a thousand words.  I will just leave it at that!

That night we headed to our neighborhood's fall festival.  It was the first time the girls got to where their costume.  Madie was SO excited.  And Marlie was a trooper as always!

I am just going to say my girls were the cutest.  I am allowed.  I am their mother and this is my blog.  :)

State Fair Time!

I LOVE the fall!  It cools off enough to enjoy being outside and there is enough going on to keep you busy for weeks!  One of the important things on our list was the Texas State Fair.  I am SO glad we got the girls pic with Big Tex before his demise.  So very sad, I know it sounds cheesy but there are a lot of fond memories that begin with Big Tex for more families than just ours! I hope he is back next year, bigger and better than ever (and with fire resistant clothing - I'm just saying)!

The girls ready for their big adventure!

 Ha!
One of the first attractions was the hands on farm.  Madie had fun pretending to be a farmer and doing all their daily chores.  She even earned a dollar for her and her sister and bought animal crackers and a power bar (don't ask) at the country store.
Marlie driving the tractor, or rather, chilling on the tractor!
Madie has a real love for riding rides!  She would ride every single one if we would let her.  No fear at all!

Come on Daddy!  Let's ride some more!!

Such a fun time as a family! We ate, danced, and saw tons of animals.  Can't wait for next year! I love this sweet girls!

Oh - and we tried fried jambalaya, fried frito pies and had corn dogs. I think I am good for a year!

8 Months Old!

Marlie Grace is 8 months old!  Holy Toledo, where has 8 months gone?  Marlie is such a sweet spirited little girl.  She laughs all the time, has a smile on her face constantly and really just lights up the world as far as I am concerned!  At 8 months Marlie is saying two words - momma and dada.  I will just leave it at that, doesn't really matter which came first does it?  She also can say bababa and loves to blow bubbles.  She has found it is especially fun to blow bubbles right when a spoon full of odd colored baby food hits her lips.  Ha! Little bit is one more well positioned rock from crawling.  She is SO close!!  It seems way to soon for this.  She just cannot wait to get going.  Now, don't get me wrong.  She can absolutely get to wherever or whatever she wants.  She rocks, she rolls, she scoots and reaches to grab everything within site.  We have tried tons of baby food and have now even started a couple of finger foods. Just puffs and shredded cheese but she thinks this is a HUGE deal!  She just grins from ear to ear. Marlie loves the water, loves to be outside and loves to watch Coco and her sister!  She takes two good naps and usually sleeps through the night.  All and all, Ms. Priss is just an absolute joy to be around.

Trying out her pool for the first time...

 Soaking in the sun
I mean seriously....... look at this girl!
And a little of this has started!  For the first time I have seen Marlie really interacting with Madie.  And by interacting I mean trying to grab her, take whatever she has and laugh out loud about it!  It is actually my very favorite thing to watch - these two beginning to enjoy each other.
Who can concentrate on pictures when there are these things to grab!!

We love you Marlie Grace, can't wait to see what the next month brings.  But listen to your momma, it would be OK to slow down just a bit.  :)

Weekend Away

I had an extra long weekend this weekend so the girls and I headed west to see Mimi and Granddaddy!  I will say there are a lot of smiles in the pictures but that is because all were taken during the day.  Ha!  Nighttime was a little more challenging and let's just say I hope Mimi and Granddaddy took a good long nap on Sunday!  :)

Madie making her first EVER banana split with Mimi. Somehow Granddad got the credit.  Sneaky. Sneaky. Ha!
Marlie Grace was super excited to be back in Abilene
 Yummy!!!
 When in Rome.......
The best part of the whole trip was that by the time we left every time you asked Madie who this was she said "my Mommy!"  That's right - all my dreams coming to fruition - someone thinks I am Wonder Woman!
Mimi always has the very best ideas!

Marlie really loved playing with all Mimi and Granddaddy's toys
Daddy attempted to get a good shot of me and my girls but this was the best we did.  Boy, I look tired.  Ha!
Even if the nights were sleepless, it's worth it all to see how very much my girls loving visiting my parents.  Madie has talked about "Abean" quite a bit lately!

7 Months

Oh my Marlie Grace - how sweet can one girl be?  The past 7 months have gone by in an absolute flash but Marlie is so, so very precious that each moment has been cherished. At 7 months MG is a roly, roly poly!  She is EVERYWHERE and in EVERYTHING!  She wants to chase her sister so bad it just makes me laugh.  Marlie has a smile that will light up a room, and she is always smiling!  She giggles a lot, loves taking baths with Madie, loves her (and Madie's) toys, and really just loves life. There is nothing that escapes her watchful eye.  She has the most adorable little dimples, I could just eat this little girl up she is so adorable!  Mars is a great eater and we have yet to find a food she doesn't like.  Ha!  She and Madie really interact these days and it is fun to watch.  Marlie just smiles at Madie and thinks she is the greatest.  Let's face it, God showed us some favor in these two precious sisters.  :)  I am SO looking forward to what the future holds for Marlie but have absolutely no doubt that everyone that ever comes in contact with this little girl will feel what pure joy is like.  We love you with all our hearts and souls Marlie Grace!
